Different, intense and creepy

Wow. This was a very intense book. Once the plot got going I really couldn't put it down. I liked how no character was perfect. They all had there own flaws and surprisingly realized that they had flaws. I do wish there had been more development of the characters. In the beginning I felt like I barely knew any of them. They were just one sentence descriptions. For example, the daughter was the slut. Dylan Keen is the overworked husband and so on and so forth. Luckily as the book went on, I was shown more of their personalities rather than told who they were.
The plot itself was very creepy. I did like how the book got into all the ramifications of the plot. People dying from the plane crash and the power turning off are a few examples of this. Unfortunately due to the shortness of the story, a lot of things are left unexplained. Who is the man that is coming? Why is everyone staring? Despite the loose ends, I did enjoy the book.
A final word. This is an adult horror story. I would not recommend this to anyone younger. There are some graphic descriptions and a pretty intense rape scene. Also, I just got the feeling overall that this was meant for an adult audience.
All in all, a pretty solid 4 stars on the entertainment scale. Thanks to Nathan Robinson for providing a free copy of this book in exchange for an honest review! :)
