The Siege of Macindaw - John Flanagan Overall, this book was better than I expected. The writing is definitely meant for younger kids so bear that in mind. This book also is mainly an extension of the last book and is not meant to be read separately. I did think that the ricochet arrows was a little far fetched but most of the other action scenes were believable. The fast forward in time does leave a lot of questions needing to be answered. I can see why many people didn't like it. There was almost no back story explaining what had gone on in between books 4 and 5. It was nice seeing a lighter side of Will. Also, the banter between Will and Horace provided some much needed humor. Overall, I really enjoyed this light read.
